bullet

Architectural Principles

This area provides broad-based guidance to design teams that they should be striving to accomplish in all of their projects. For example, one principle may be to have a single book of record for master data.

bullet

Architectural Transitional Goals

This area describes the future architectural directions to be taken and a time-line for accomplishing the goals. For example, one transitional goal may be to replace the current application server with an updated version or to a another app server all together. This may require budgeting from more than one project to accomplish, so the architecture team needs to involved in each of the projects.

Architectural Styles and Patterns

This area provides guidance by supplying patterns to be used by design teams.
bullet Meta-models & UML Profiles
Meta-modeling leverages extensions to UML to provide a more directed modeling environment. UML profiles created from the extended meta-model for each of the architectural views enables modeling in the language of the view. This increases the consistency and comprehension of designs.
bullet Report Templates
Report templates ease the task of creating consistent, precise, and concise documentation.
