Diagram as an Element List

Some diagrams merely provide a place to create new elements and do not show any relationships among them. An example are the IT Application Inventory category diagrams. They simply list the the IT Apps in the category.

For such diagrams, you can choose to have the diagram show a list of the elements rather than a normal diagram. This eliminated the need to organize the elements on the diagram for esthetic purposes. It also allow you to sort the elements for easy reference.

You can change the look of the diagram by right clicking on the diagram background. If the diagram is already in the list format, you will see Show as Diagram. If not, you will see Show Diagram as Element List. To make the change persistent, open the diagram's property dialog, click on the Diagram tab, and check or uncheck the Always Open as Element List.

The following diagram shows the list of operating systems.
