(EA)2 Configurations

(EA)2 provides a number of resources to allow you to customize your modeling environment. They consist of model elements that you create from the Configurables sections on the various toolboxes. The names of the model elements you create become the list of allowable values for the tag. See Tagged Values for more information.

There are numerous configurable elements included in the various toolboxes, e.g. Schedule on the (EA)2 Application Architecture Toolbox. Some do not fit neatly into one toolbox and are placed in its own package under Architectural Guidance / EA2 Configurables in the (EA)2 Base Model framework. You can place them anywhere in your model, but it helps to keep them organized.

The following subsections describe each of the configurable elements.

The (EA)2 Base Model has a EA2 Resources / Business Need Priority package in which you will find the four Business Need Priority types namely; Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, and Wish List. This is referred to as the MSCW list (pronouced MOSCOW). You can change these and add your own.
File Types
Files have a FIle Type tagged value. You can create elements using the File Type toolbox element to establish the list of File Types to be used in your model, e.g. Flat, CSV, etc.
Reporting Elements
Reporting Elements gives you a means to categorize related model elements so they will be included together in reports. See Reporting Elements for more information.
Schedules
